Seohan Auto USA, a Tier 1 automotive supplier to Hyundai and Kia, is once again expanding its operations to Auburn.

The company is investing $13.5 million in its two Auburn facilities, allowing Seohan to begin producing components for hybrid and electric vehicles.

Seohan expects to create 12 new jobs through this expansion.

“These are exciting times for the automotive manufacturing industry,” said Myon Han, president of Seohan Auto USA. “As our Korean customers increase their production of hybrid and electric vehicles here in the United States, we are excited to participate in the electric vehicle market by expanding our capabilities to provide these manufacturers with the solutions they need.”

Seohan has seen steady growth since arriving at Auburn. The company’s first Auburn location in Auburn Industrial Park opened in 2008, and its second location in Auburn Technology Park West opened in 2014.

Seohan recently expanded in 2019 when the company invested $28.55 million in its two facilities, increasing the localization of machined parts for Hyundai and Kia.

The Auburn Downtown Merchants Association’s Cheers on the Corner will be held Friday, July 22 from 6-9 p.m. in downtown Auburn.

Downtown streets will close at 5:15 p.m. on Friday, July 22 and reopen after the event and cleanup after 9 p.m. College Street will be closed from Thach Avenues to Tichenor, and Magnolia Avenue will be closed from Wright to Gay Streets. On-street parking along these roads will close at 3 p.m.

An entertainment district will be in effect during the event, allowing patrons to consume alcoholic beverages outdoors within the perimeters of the district. Beverages and containers must be obtained from participating downtown businesses.
