Chamber Excellence in Business Award

Greater Newport Chamber will host the Business Excellence Awards, the Governor will present the citations.

Newport, RI – The Greater Newport Chamber of Commerce will host the 2022 Excellence in Business Awards, sponsored by Carey, Richmond & Viking Insurance, on Tuesday, July 19 at the Viking Hotel. During this breakfast, Governor Dan McKee will present official citations to the winners. These awards are presented annually to honor outstanding business achievement in Greater Newport and are designed to celebrate the achievements of local businesses and recognize the vital role they play in the economic well-being of the community.

“It is always a pleasure to be able to honor local businesses each year for their achievements and their impact on the local community. We look forward to learning more about these incredible companies at this year’s event and helping to raise awareness of their impact on the Greater Newport area,” said Erin Donovan-Boyle, Executive Director of the Chamber of trade of Greater Newport.

Applications from any member of the Chamber for at least one year were accepted by the community, and applications were reviewed by a judging committee made up of volunteers from the Board of Directors and the Chamber’s Ambassadors Committee. The categories for this year’s Business Excellence Awards are: micro, small, large, female/minority owned and non-profit.

The Chamber is delighted to announce the Business Excellence recipients for 2022:

Large Business Winner: People’s Credit Union

Small Business Winner: The Clean Earth Project

Winner of the micro-enterprise: Tightline Consulting

Female or Minority: Tiverton Farmer’s Market

Nonprofit Winner: Newport Film

2022 nominees also included: Bellevue Nutrition, Blue Venture Forum, Charter Books, Diego’s Restaurant Group, East Bay Community Action Program, Farmaesthetics, Hummingbird Café, Jamestown Arts Center, Jane Pickens Theatre, John Clarke Senior Living, Luke Renchan Entertainment, Maritime Solutions, Newport Mental Health, Newport Out, Ohanga, Preservation Society of Newport County, Teri Degnan Real Estate, Turning Around Ministries and Safe Harbor.
