OHIO LEATHERWORKS: The Vienna Historical Society will feature speaker Ray O’Neill on the Ohio Leatherworks Company of Girard at 7 p.m. Tuesday in the Vienna United Methodist Church Hall. It will evoke the history of the old factory formerly located in Girard. DVDs will be on sale after the presentation.

HALLOWEEN SCIENCE: Mosquito Lake Park will host Halloween Science 101 from 5-6:30 p.m. Tuesday at the Beach Pavilion. Behind every howl, whoop, crack, or creepy sound is a science that can be found. There will be Halloween experiences.

TREAT AT EASTWOOD: The Scrappers will host the 24th annual Trick or Treat from 6-8 p.m. Wednesday at Eastwood Field in Niles. The Trick or Treat event to celebrate Halloween is for children 12 and under. Tickets are $1 per person. Anyone who donates canned goods at the event for the Feed Our Valley project will receive a Scrappers general admission ticket for the 2023 season.

NEWTON FALLS CAKEWALK: Kiwanis of Newton Falls will host the annual cakewalk at 2 p.m. Saturday on Broad Street. At 1:45 p.m., participants in the costume contest will be called by age group to the center of the route to be judged. Cash prizes and gift certificates will be awarded. The Kiwanis bought the cakes from local grocers.

MEET THE CANDIDATES: A Meet the Candidates night will be held Thursday from 6-8 p.m. in the auditorium at Badger High School in Kinsman.

WARD’S MEETING: The Warren Sixth Ward meeting will be held Tuesday at 5:30 p.m. at Second Baptist Church, 1510 Main Ave. SW, Warren. Topics to be discussed include the rescue plan proposal, surveillance cameras, demolitions and traffic lights on Tod Avenue. The meeting will be moderated by Cheryl Saffold, City Councilor for the 6th Arrondissement.

COSTUME PARTY: A fall harvest party and community costume party will be held Saturday from 6-8 p.m. at Shepherd of All God’s Children’s School, 610 N. Lakeview Ave., Warren. Doors open at 5 p.m. and close at 9 p.m. For more information, call 234-855-7540.

FOOD DRIVE TO HELP SURVIVORS: A food drive to honor breast cancer survivors and to benefit Protestant Family Service and help those in need during the holidays will take place Saturday from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the medicine parking lot family home DMHD, 1320 Belmont Ave., Youngstown. Items collected are non-perishable food items, canned goods and monetary donations.

Mitzvah Day: The Jewish Community Relations Council of the Youngstown Area Jewish Federation will be hosting a Mitzvah Day event called Project Connect 2022 from 1-4 p.m. today at the Jewish Community Center, 505 Gypsy Lane, Youngstown. Participants will have access to many community organizations and free resources and services. Various organizations are expected.

TEEN NIGHT: The Girard Free Library will offer macabre evenings for teenagers aged 12 to 17 from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Wednesdays. Entrants can dress as their favorite 1980s icon. Call 330-545-2508 to register.

The Girard Library will host a Kids in the Kitchen event at 4 p.m. Thursday for children in grades two through six. Children will learn cooking skills from scratch from the staff. Registrations are required by Tuesday.
