EARTH DAY: Residents of the Roosevelt neighborhood in Warren are hosting a Tree Party at 11 a.m. today at 682 Hall St., Warren, in honor of Earth Day. The event will include saplings for up to 100 homeowners, a tree planting demonstration and a light lunch. The event is sponsored by Plant Ahead Ohio and members of the Roosevelt Neighborhood Association in conjunction with Trumbull Neighborhood Partnership. Plant Ahead Ohio is striving to plant 1,000 saplings in 2022 in the Warren area.
COMMUNITY FAIR: McKinley Memorial Library, Niles Public Library, will host a Community Connections Fair from 1-4 p.m. Saturday at the Niles Wellness Center, 213 Sharkey Drive.
Attendees will have the opportunity to connect with more than 35 Niles and Trumbull County organizations specializing in the environment, education, history, and service. Attendees can chat with Niles Mayor Steve Mientkiewicz, police and firefighters, members of the Rotary Club, members of the Niles Historical Society, local school officials, and staff at the McKinley Memorial Library.
Residents will also be able to learn about the League for Animal Welfare, Cadence Care, Friends of the Mahoning River, Help Me Grow, Ohio Means Jobs and United Way. The full list of attendees is available at www.mcklib.org/Community-Connections-Fair.
The first 200 attendees will receive a tote bag that the library made for the event to hold the materials.
TCESC ART SHOW: The annual Trumbull County Educational Services Center Art Show will be on display daily from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. today through Sunday and also Wednesday at the Museum of Art from the Medici to Howland. The exhibit features high school students from Trumbull County who will be judged on their high technical abilities, creativity and originality. The awards ceremony will take place on Wednesday at 6 p.m.
